Welcome to The Center for Social Advancement,
Medical Prevention and Research,
Panagia Philanthropini

Established in accordance with the Eastern Orthodox Christian Faith the Center for Social Advancement, Medical Prevention and Research, Panagia Philanthropini, (Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary, Who Loves Humankind) resides in northern Greece, near the town of Ormylia, Chalkidike.

monasteri The mother monastery, the Sacred Convent of the Annunciation, is a large monastic community, with over 120 nuns from various nations, the majority of whom hold university degrees. The Convent, is a dependency of the Monastery of Simonos Petras on Mount Athos. more

Medical examinations

Since 1991, the Monastery Center of Panagia Philanthropini has organized and continuously augments its free for all people medical diagnostic examinations, public health and scientific research divisions.

The center "Panagia Philanthropini" examines more than 7,000 women annually for breast cancer and cervical cancer.

The Center seeks to provide tangible support to professionals, leaders, and advocates throughout the world who seek to develop medical projects for the benefit of their own people.

Collaborations and Support

The Monastery Center offers its services to all without payment. The work of the Center receives partial support from the European Commission, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the Hellenic Government and private support such as from the Susan G. Komen For The Cure (formerly known as Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation).
